Singapore ERP Joke On Recent Increase
_________________________

Child: Daddy, daddy, why increase ERP charges all over the island?

Father: Because the traffic speeds had fallen below optimum.

Child: I think that huge increase in population adds congestion to our roads, Do you agree?

Father: That is not prudent. It is irrelevant, my child. My job is to maintain optimal speed on our roads. Increase ERP charges will improve the situation.

Child: Daddy, daddy, but don't you think you are squeezing a balloon? The congestion will just go elsewhere.

Father: That's why we build more and more ERP gantries. I know ERP is effective.

Child: Oh! Just like that... daddy has an easy job.

Child: But how about congestion in the MRT trains and buses? Are those commuters lesser mortals?

Father: Time up. No more question!
